b18 85.5mm 13:25:1highcomp build!
What's up guy! I thought I start a thread on my B series all motor build I've been working on for the last few months. I really think yall will enjoy this as much as do! The journey hasn't finished just yet, but hey, that's why it's a project.
10/21/15 progress!!!
That being said here's the low down on what it's been like.
I'm not a mechanic, nor do I have any prior car projects. But I know enough to get the parts purchasing correctly. And with the much needed help of my mechanics Flex and Keymar, I think we've got enough brains to reach that 300whp goal
Parts
Bottom end:
Gsr b18c block (purchased bare)
Golden eagle sleeves&block guard(85.5mm!!!)
Golden eagle oil squirter plugs
ACL race bearings
Honda LS 89mm crank
ARP main studs
ARP head studs
ARP ROD bolts
Manley rods
WEISCO 85.5mm 13:25:1 Comp
Type R oil pump
Gates racing timing belt and water pump kit
Honda oem Crank gear and key
GSR girdle w/new bolts
Moroso turbo oil pan
DOWNSTAR complete bolt kit
Head
Integra Type R Pr3 Head 98
Port and polished intake
Port and polished exhaust
Super tech flat head valves springs and retainers
Skunk2 pro2 stage 2 cams
Golden eagle cam gears
VictorX edlebroc intake manifold
BLOX billet 74mm throttle body
RC 700cc injectors
And yes i know the exhaust ports are dirty. Thats bc I had the machine shop in my area break it in, in shop.
I still need many many parts but I got a list already waiting.
Being such high compression I know you all must think I'm crazy. But I intended for this not to be daily driven
The car will run on 110 octane race fuel from a near by vp. And to ensure full combustion and precise timing I will have the AEM coil on plug kit. the stage 2 cams will also help keep the timing true as well.
Exuast is to be determined. Not a hood stack bc I'll be driving on the street more so than a track. If my mechanic can get ahold of the owner of SSR I'd get a streetsweeper fabbed up for this motor. Then to custom 3"
Clutch and fly wheel are still need as well. Need to do more research for that.
Now you must all be dying to know why this motor will be siting in, so I'll spoil it with one picture

And I live in new England so that's like a golden egg as it is... she's all done up too. By me. Full suspension, tucked bay, race feul pump and lines, traction bar, gutted, soon to be roll cage, and as of now 1 sparco pro2000 seat with Nardi wheel on nrg hub.
She's on avid1 black and bronze twist, not the ones you see. And she's sitting pretty with a carbon fiber hood also.
Let me know what you guys think. I'll be updating and making the thread more detailed with pics and parts as I get time and progress gets done.
Thanks for checking it out!

Good luck on the build!
Did your oil squirters hit the crankshaft and that's why your deleting them? Just curious a sit seems some people said they clear and others said they touch.
Mine touched and I had to plug them in my old build.

Yeah j know 300 will be a challenge, but regardless I'll be happy with what ut makes. Always room for improvement down the road.. ITBs just isn't what I wanted. Still a good option tho for the future...

This is number one my dude. Im not the one that did the motor work. I just did wat I could on the shell. I was always there to lend a hand to the mechanic. Started buying parts in February. And what you see is where I'm at right now.

I bought the block bare, without squirters. My mechanic told me I needed them. Not 100% sure why honestly.

Re: b18 85.5mm 13:25:1highcomp build!
I personally think that if you are able to keep them you should. The purpose of oil squirters is to cool the piston, not for lubrication like many people think.
Cooler pistons help resist detonation. But with ethanol, it's not quite as important since e85 has a high octane rating.
With 89mm cranks they seem to be very close to touching. Just curious if you're cleared or not that's all.

Re: b18 85.5mm 13:25:1highcomp build!
Last thing I'm worried about is resistance. The AEM COP burns about .5ms longer then dizzy ignition, and combined with the 110 octane fuel, and the high comp. I'll get complete combustion. I put a new gsr windage try to prevent splashing in the crank to a degree. The type r oil pump will keep everything nice and lubed up.

Re: b18 85.5mm 13:25:1highcomp build!
89mm crank will hit the oil squirters, as far as I know you will need LS rods to go with the crank because of the different designs between the GSR & LS rods that cools them.
I'm currently doing a similar GSLR build, but a daily driver build lol
