No, the rods are not the same. I would strongly suggest against this combo. The compression ratio will be rediculously high due to the fact that with a B16/B17 the CTR pistons come OUT of the hole. Your comp will be around 12.5:1.

actually, this will have very low compression, this won't be correct. b17 and b16 blocks have the same deck height. the b17 stroke is bigger so the rods are shorter, therefore, your pistons will sit much below the deck, your better off with b16 rods, i'll sell you my good set of b16 rods with the pistons still attached for 40$.

This is 100% incrorrect. The CTR pistons, on B17 rods, WILL come out of the hole at LEAST .010". I have a B17. I put CTR's on the rods. I took pictures if you would like to see. I have also put CTR's on a B16 and they STILL come out of the hole. This, I did not take pictures of. There are many reputable builders who will clarify my point.

B16/B17 deck height = 7.997

B16 crank = 77.4mm
B16 rods = 134mm

B17 crank = 81.4mm
B17 rods = 132mm

The post above about B16 crank w/ B17 rods with CTR pistons drasticly LOWERING compression is correct

Use the B16 rods with the B16 crank... CTR pistons will still stick out of the hole about .020 though... Theres been 100's upon 100's of people who have had that set up on this board alone... Works well

And yes, they stick out of the hole with the B17 crank/rods as well...

not to jack your thread, but if you want to use your b17 rods and stroke your b16 block to 1.7L, i have a nice b17a crank fs. pm me.
