Default 2 Questions

I found a cheap swap and it is going to be what I'm doing until I can find a GSR bottom end to swap onto my b16 head.

a Gen1 b16 full swap with a cable tranny..

I'm basically gonna do all the bolt ons..

just a ebay header, skunk2 im, 65mm tb, passwordjdm c/f whale ***** intake, cam gears... on a 1st gen B16

I read somewhere on this forum that the 2nd gen b16 you can swap in skunk2 pro 1's w/o any valve train modifications if you dont rev it any higher then stock.. but I am not sure if that is possible with the gen1 b16.. is it? I'm pretty sure I'm using those cams btw because eventually its gona be a poor man type R.

2nd question.. due to my future plans I was gona use 2.5" exhaust would that be to much until I do the poor man Type R swap? basically is 2.5 inch exhaust way too much on a b16? and the 2nd question is could I use stock valve train on a 1st gen b16 with skunk2 pro1's ? if not would a ITR valve train get me by?

i have a 2000 Si/b16a2 with ctr internals. this motor LOVES the 2.5 exhaust.

also, a first gen b16 is gettin pretty old, so i'd probably just replace the valve springs anyway to be safe....that way you can go with an aftermarket cam AND rev past the stock redline (with tuning of course).

where did you read that? pro1's are decently sized cams and would require valvetrain. you could use stock springs and retainers with itr/ctr cams if not revving higher than stock, but i wouldnt try it with bigger cams.

LOL, ummm....NO. You are probably confusing the Pro1's with the S2S1's, VERY different cam profile. **** I bet the oe springs would bind just off the Pro1 primaries
