Lost keys to '97 RL
I lost all my keys to my 1997 3.5 RL; however, remakably I have the red learning key. My understanding is that I can get new keys programmed with the learning key. Now, the dealership is telling me that I would need an original key + the learning key to get duplicates made; therefore, I will need to purchase the immobilizer. This makes absolutely no sense. Does this sound correct?. My guess is that the technitian at the dealership put the learning key in the ignition; which is why it no longer can program a key. The learning key pacgage clearly warned that the red key should not be put into the ignition.

thats not 100% correct the parts dept can and will cut a key to code providing you have not changed the ignition switch or had it rekeyed because the learn key wil lbe useless if so. so yes that dealer is full of it.
