Key won't turn ignition switch
I parked my 97 accord lx manual for about 3 hours while I went to my friends house and when I got back to the car key wouldn't turn.
I tried shaking the wheel while turning the key and the wheel locked up on me I've been trying for quit some time now I just wanna buy cylinder but can't until the end of the week anyone know something I can do to at least move the car

When inserting the key does it feel any different than usual?
Have you had any trouble with turning the key in the past?
When unlocking the column, do you normally push in and turn, or do you simply just twist the key?

Re: Key won't turn ignition switch
I had that happen on my 97 accord. It was a brand new ignition as well and it happened twice to me, but never happened again after that incident. My deduction was that the spring or springs inside the tumbler got stuck and did not register the key the correct way, so it wouldn't allow me to turn the key. I'm thinking a stuck spring inside the tumbler is the culprit. Try moving the key in and out to get it unstuck. When you move it in and out, try moving the key up and down at the same time to nock it loose.
