Where to send OEM ITR radio for repair ??
Guys, I need to have my OEM radio checked out. The CD player keeps shooting the infamous "P-E0" error and when it decides to read the disc it will skip on the most miniscule of bumps in the road. Can you guys recommend a good place to have the unit serviced ?? Has anyone else had this problem ??
I hear you.. I know I'll probably end up buying a used one. I just thought if I can get mine properly serviced it would be better than buying one that I know nothing about ..
Okay, I did some research in to this and it sounds like it is probably the laser. I would suggest opening it up, and cleaning the laser with isopropyl alcohol. If that doesn't work, you will need to replace the laser.
There's someone in the forum that is advertising theirs for $50. I'm sure they'll chime in soon if it's available.
Just hope it doesn't have the skip-syndrome like yours.

My local Honda/Acura dealer sends all of their stereo repair work to Factory Car Radio Repair, Inc. in Longwood, FL. Their URL is http://www.carstereohelp.net/ I read at one time that ALL Honda dealers sent the many faulty current-generation Accord stereos to this place for warranty repairs.

Is this possible ?? It would be nice to have a head unit from a GSR that I could add a changer.

Mine was doing the same thing, I just put in one of those cds with the tiny brushes on them and it seemed to fix the problem. Hopefully that's all is needed.
I got the same code yesterday. I turned the radio off for 10 minutes. Then I pulled the fuse for the radio. The PE-0 code went away after that.

GSR/ITR head units are the same. so yes, you can interchange the faces to change the illumination color.

I envy those of you who can still hear the radio over the intake, exhaust, road and tyre noise.
We had to disconnect the battery to do something a couple weeks ago and I have never even bothered inputting the code again.

Just make sure it comes with the theft deterrent code

Well, I searched a bit and found that its going to cost a few bucks to get the PE0 error serviced at a shop so I'm talking to a fellow forum member about buying his ITR head unit. Thanks a lot for the input.
Even though I'm going with a replacement ITR radio, I really liked the idea of using a GSR radio with an ITR faceplate (for the amber light). I have an OEM cd changer somewhere in my garage and I might try that trick down the road.
