Anybody have the phillips HID kit with underdrive alternator pulleys on their car? I was wondering if the headlights dim at idle cause with stock halogens the interior lights and headlights dim.

HID's pull less wattage than the stock low beams, so I'd imagine there would be no problem.

Well...i was thinking the same thing. I also thought because HID's are not filament bulbs it would have no effect.

Doesn't anybody run this setup? I got AEM 2power underdrive pulleys and was wondering what would happen if I got HID's.

NOTE: I refer the True Power pulleys as 2power cause that's all they produce...about 2 whp.

Two comments here. Number one yes they do pull less voltage so in theory it would be a good match although an underdrive pulley still puts out 14.4 volt off idle anyway. Now, some observations. I'm sure some of you have played loud music and seen your dashlights and headlights dim to the beat. The cool thing about HID's is they don't. No matter what they do not dim, probably because the voltage has to go through the voltgae converter and ballast. It seems unaffacted by voltage drops in the electrical system.

thats funny because my aem underdrive pulley does not give me 14.4 volts at idle

And Ive seen the dimming of the stock halogen lights at idle, you step on the gas a little bit and it brightens, but with my HIDs no dimming problems.
