Default Heating issues .. help !!

2001 ITR with a ton of mods. Specific cooling mods: Meziere electric water pump, Mugen thermoswitch.

The car has been working fine for the last two years since I installed the electric water pump. However, a couple of days ago one of the fans has stopped working. When I am cruising the higway everything works fine but when I am in everyday traffic or just standing still, the car heats up to just over the halfway mark on the dash gauge and my A/C stops cooling. Once I start moving again, everything comes back to normal.

I know the fans work because I can hook up power directly and the start right up. So the problem is probably in a sensor or something. I am digging for my oem thermoswitch to install that and discard that as a possible problem. What else can I look into ??

Here's a pic of the evidence.. notice the fan on the right NOT turning.

Had the same thing last week. Was the water sensor located on the thermostat. Large nut, should be able to see it easily, has a connecter coming off of it.

Basically tells the fand to turn or not, but if it fails they won't kick in.

$30 at Honda (at cost)

Yup .. that's the thermoswitch. I've had a hard time finding my original one which I replaced with a Mugen part. At least you give me hope that once I find this darned thing I'll have my problem solved.. Any other suggestions ??

I'll chek the fuse .. BTW, wouldn't a bad thermoswitch affect BOTH fans, not just one ??

Update: You guys were right on BOTH accounts. The thermoswitch and the fuse were both shot. I replaced both parts but my fans are still not coming on and my A/C is not cooling. What's next ??
