OT: Hatchcrap goes to dyno on Satruday.... Any thoughts/suggestions?
I have half a day set aside.
I did some baseline tuning last year, but the motor is completely different now...
B18C1, JDM ITR slugs, Mugen Gasket, Skunk Manifold, bored TB, JDM DC header, AEM 3" intake, CTR cams, ITR valve springs, 250cc RC injectors
No adjustable cam gears at this time. Just FPR, VAFC, and base timing to mess with.
Running on a Dynapack with Motec wideband O2
Here is what I was thinking:
Run 1:Baseline run. I want to get a feel for the A/F so I can get the pressure set correctly.
Run 2:Validate fuel pressure setting such that highest A/F ratio point is in decent spec.
Run 3 and Beyond: VAFC fuel trim
Any ideas on VTEC cross over? The chip is set at 5500rpm. Obviously I have some control with the VAFC. I was thinking of doing one run with the cross over set as high as it will go and see what the low lobe graph looks like and then set the cross over as low as it will go and compare the two graphs. I also have to take into consideration the GSR gear box which has fairly tall gearing.
Ausmith - who is hoping he can produce at least 175whp.

I just did some calculating on gear ratios and vtec cross over...
On the GSR gearbox 1st gear is 3.23 and second is 1.90 - which equates to a drop of 1.70:1 on the shift from 1st to 2nd. (found by dividing 3.23/1.90)...
With that in mind if I rev to 8500rpm in first gear and shift to second, the RPM is going to drop down to 5000rpm!
Assuming I don't want to take rev above 8500rpm the highest vtec point I can use is 5000rpm --> also assuming that I don't want to fall out of vtec after shifting.
Pretty interesting eh. I see why the vtec is 4400 on an P72 ECU. If you rev to7650 and shift to second it drops to 4500rpm....
I guess that answers my question.

LOL - I just had my stockers cleaned/balanced and the average flow rate ended up being 249cc versus 239cc before cleaning.
LOL- you were probably like WTF. What a moron!
So anyway - any suggestions?
I just got done breaking the motor in by doing a handful of 2 minute full throttle full rpm runs on the freeway in 5th gear. I read somewhere on this board that it worked quite well.

J/K
Let us know how it goes on the dyno.

How did that valve get turned upside down?
Here's what mine looks like for real.... and I gave it a real easy 1000 mile break-in.

thats not mine.
on that motor a crower retainer failed. valve dropped and broke the head off
and well, you can pretty much guess the rest

Eau Claire @ Henry's joint. It's a little far, but he's a buddy and it's a dynapak. Wanna come? Sammis and I will be leaving earlyish on Saturday morning and returning promptly after the session.
