Got a cage? I want to see it! Roll bars too!

Re: Got a cage? I want to see it! Roll bars too! (Bbasso)
Mine is an Art Morrison bar, 4 point with a harness bar. I was going to go six point, which I will in the future. The points I had to make it six were just straight bars which didn't fit with the door panels and the Recaro seats so I had to go with out, until I find someone skilled enough to make it all work. I am also toying with the idea of going to a cage. My four point roll bar is NHRA spec and is a weld in unit. The cage has also been secured to the chasis with four grade 8 bolts and nuts at each point just in case the chasis was to flex and eventually break the welds.
I don't have any pictures right now, but do have some. I also, didn't do it for looks. I just didn't want to introduce my head to my ******* in the event of a roll over.
Aloha,
Brandon

OMP makes a bolt-in 6 point for the Integra.
Not for racing use (no door bars) - but adds considerable stiffness to the chassis and is great for a track day car.
BPR - who really needs to update his pics

Please God, or whom ever it is you pray to when your life sucks, please DO NOT put anyone in the back seat when you get a roll bar/cage. Better yet, do yourself a favor and take the back seat out so your not tempted.
That first link Bbasso supplied scares me when I look at those pictures with a back seat in there.
Aloha,
Brandon

I left my back seat in with my Autopower as the interior would look too unfinished otherwise. You'd have to be a moron to sit back there. One would think that common sense would stop someone from sitting in a place where metal bars would be infront of them in a impact. Who knows.

Here's some crappy shotz of an Autopower Rollbar in my car:
It doesn't eat up as much space in the rear of the car. And, I have seen it in action, in person and trust it's safety ability.
Jeez that was last winter,,, how time flys.

How many places are you going to post this?
Search, there are plenty of 'rollbar' and 'cage' topics

Nice cage pics everyone. Yoshi's looks very aggressive. That's the real deal. Very nice. To Brandon; I believe 'IGGY' left his back seats in to make him eligible for the class he races in. (Back seats out, different class). I could be wrong but I remember reading that when looking at his pics. If I were to do a rollbar, 'IGGY's' set-up is the cleanest I've seen. Big Phat R; DAMN, your car is amazing. I love seeing your pics. I'm lovin' that yer local to me too.

I have always liked your OMP rollbar - and now that I am activly shopping for one for myself I am seriously considering this one for myself. What is the retail price for the Integra bar? How was the install?

Yeah that's what I was thinking as well.
We are thinking abut adding OMP to our product list but... They want a big buy in...
Hey BPR, how long did it take to get that roll bar after you ordered it? Also, have a H-bar added, that harness set up that you have in that pic is NOT safe. Won't cost that much to have one added.

Not safe? Come on. As long as the harness strap does not come off the back of the seat at an angle greater than 45 degrees - I don't see the problem. Tell me why it's not safe (i'm already aware of the risk of spinal compression injury) but cannot see how this would occur unless you anchor the straps directly behind the seat. Mine are anchored at the rear seat seatbelt anchor points which is like 2 feet behind the seat.
You could add an H-bar or get the sparco harness bar (I think it will fit in there).
My friend Frank is the OMP distributor for Canada and Western US. How soon you get the cage depends on when shipments are scheduled from Italy. Sometimes that means a month - otherwise longer.
Install is tricky and time consuming - but it fits well with the full interior. You have to weld in mounting plates for the front hoops (i posted pics of it a long time ago).
You also have to take one of the doors off and the dash out to get the rear hoop in. PITA maximus.
Phone Frank at 604.298.5575 (Driver's Edge Autosport) if you are interested in pricing/shipping details.
I think the "cage" weighs in about 70 lbs. It's FIA homologated.
A lot of people criticize the triangulation of the rear part of the cage and feel that the diagonal's apex should be over the driver's head. All of OMP cages are like this - even the ones for the 360 Challenge cars and the M3s. If you don't like that - I'm sure you could weld one in the other way - or get another make of cage.
