check engine light 21
my mates '98 jdm itr is showing a cel light, when we crossed the pin we got code 21....vtec spool solonoid valve, we removed the 3x10mm bolts securing it,gave it a clean & replaced it(not over tightening) then reset the ecu by disconnecting the -battery, we started the car but its still showing cel.
does anyone have any words of wisdom to point us in the right direction, any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

Code 21 is not thrown when oil pressure is low due to low oil levels.
Code 22 maybe thrown which is vtec oil pressure switch....
Code 21 is probably being thrown due to an bad connection from the vtec solenoid to the ecu. Perform a continuity test from the engine harness to the ecu. If the test comes out ok, try another ecu.

great stuff man, we'll try that! in fact now that i think of it, someone else was at his ecu last week, checking the pin for referance as he was fitting a vtec controller,
just for your info the wire had been left bare where the vtec controller was spliced into the loom, re-attached the wire, taped it up and everything was brand new, tanx for the help
