does it come back after resetting the ECU? we had this once on a friends 97 R but it hasn't come back since reseting the ECU. otherwise, follow the diags, check vtec sol, check oil pressure switch, ecm.

Could you please explain how or more specifically what to clean? I've already removed the pre-screen it's clean, checked connections, oil level, etc.

Clean the Vtec solenoid.

there's a filter basket when you remove the VTEC solenoid from the engine. It gets clogged sometimes and prevents the oil pressure to build up to trigger the pressure switch. It's the first thing you do as an easy quickfix (if that is indeed the problem).

the helms manual diagnostic check list for that code will help you here. You check the connectors and also check if the oil pressure reads correctly at specific rpms briefly while the engine is not loaded.

Do you have a V-AFC. Steve Sakai has experienced a lot of problems with them and he swears the v-AFC's are problematic (Even though I haven't had this problem.......yet).

Of course if you don't have a v-Afc then I'd have to rethink what else it could be.
