Bad alignment ???
I haven't really driven my R since the Expo. The race pads and tires are still on the car. I decided to do some needed maintenance this weekend. So, I put the car up on jack stands remove the wheels and then see this:
I am figuring bad alignment???
I have chord all the way around on the inside edge of the passenger side front wheel only.
What do you think??
PS=> I am beginning to realize that I have to pay MUCH more attention to my car if I plan on doing track days. Maintenance is MUCH, MUCH, higher attention span. I knew about it, but, sometimes you never fully realize it until you experience it.

oh, btw if you need some spare r compound tires, you can have the ones i have! (225 in front, 205 in rear...on millenia wheels)
all you need to do is to dismount them! then they are yours!

David,
Not suprising. That track is mostly right handers. My tire temps and wear indicated that the inside passenger tire was getting hot. I took some camber out of that side and at the same time added some to the other.
I ended up at -.75 degree on the right front and -2.5 degree on the left front.
Ausmith - who corded 2 tires at expo

I am learning a whole lot with doing more track days.
After this year, I will most likely get a stiffer suspension and camber plates. The stock suspension is sweet (actually AMAZING), but just not up to the duty of heavy track days or racing (obvisously).
Thanks for the info.

when was the last time you did the alignment on the car?
That is 225 front tire, right?? are you sure that tire is not making any contact on the fender (when you making hard high G turn).......I can see the very edge of that tire is still in fair condition but not the core part of course.
You're right. Track driving is require MUCH MORE attention and maintenance
on the car.
BTW........I just change the left-front wheel bearing yesterday which was damaged after Expo

Oscar,
I am running 225's, but the chording was on the inner edge not the outer edge. Also, I haven't got my alignment done in over a year
Time to do it before summit point.
I am glad you figured out the source of that noise !
Tom,
Thanks for the offer of the R tires, but I run 225/45 not 225/50 (too tall of a gearing).
