Default Any one running a DRL (daytime running light) KIT on their USDM ITR?

First of all, all help is welcomed and appreciated. However, I know some of you are going to ask me why I would even want drls or why I want to use a drl kit. So I'll answer them once, but please don't ask again I just need an productive answer related to my question. Thanks.

Why I want DRL's
I have a retrofit in my low-beams, so almost never use my high beams. So what I want to do is, like others before me, put yellow bulbs in my high beams. Then find a high beam drl kit that reduces the light intensity by 50-60% and wire the kit to a jdm fog light switch instead of wiring the drl's to the ignition. So the drl kit only turns on when I push the button.

Why I want a DRL kit as opposed to a DIY
As I understand it, resistors get hot and I'd rather reduce the headlight intensity using the pulse modulation that the drl kit offers, which is the best method as well as being less likely to cause problems in the future.

Having said that, I have searched extensively and the problem I'm running into is that almost all the kits are made for the low beam or they are 2 lamp systems, as opposed to the 4 lamp kit which I would need for the integra. 2 lamp systems are made for cars that have the high beam and the low beam in the same headlight housing, like a civic. 4 lamp systems, as would be used for the integra, obviously are headlights that have separate lamps for high and low beams.

I have found a couple of drl kits I'm considering:
- The Hamsar: 45035
- A pacific insight model

I know there are people that are running daytime running light kits on integras. So my question to all of you running kits is:

1. What drl kits are you integra owners using in your high beams?
2. How long have you have the kits? Any problems?
3. If you had it to do over again would you use the same kit or buy another?

I just want something that will work reliably for my application without the risk of over heating/fire or other complications. Help me out H-T...

Default FV-QR

What about sourcing the necessary parts from a Canadian model Integra that came with them from the factory?

I searched on T-I under "drl" and "daytime running light." The problem with those search results is that they are older, like from 02-07, and no one list a specific drl kit as compatible. I've seen a bunch of pictures of tegs with them and I'm hoping someone can give me some input.

Also I've seen a honda relay for oem drl's for sale but it was for an odyssey. I wouldn't mind sourcing the parts for drl's from a canadian teg. If some one knows off hand what parts are required to run candaian drl's let me know.

Thanks.

IPD used to sell this kit for older Volvos. Maybe you could google the company to see if they offer something for Honda/Acura?

I did some searching on Canadian drl's. According to this thread, LINK, the Canadian wiring harnesses are different from the usdm harness. I'll do some more searching on Canadian drl to find out if this is true and let you guys know.

That's why you hook the drl up to a jdm switch like I plan to so you can turn then off and on when you want.

Thanks for this tip, I read the installation guide of model 20013 and it says it is a high beam kit. It looks very promising, I'll call the company tomorrow to find out if it will work for this application. Thanks agin for the input!

i have a canadian model integra with the drl, pretty weird at first, but all it is, is a box that goes in the corner of the engine bay by the clutch master cylinder and plugs into a plug that the usdm models dont have
