'00 B18C5 INTO A 94 CX HATCH (4 ?'S)
Well I hope you swap guru's can answer these questions for me, I did a search and checked out the faq's with no luck...
1. Can I just plug up the connectors and thats it for the wiring? There's an extra plug with 3 wires on the passenger side of the engine that the civic doesn't have, whats that connection for and can I run without it?
2. Can I use the existing fuel system with the new engine, I will swap the fuel pump but can I use the civic's fuel filter. (I dont want to change it unless I have to because the inlet point is different and I would have to swap the whole line back to the fuel tank.)
3. How do I swap the brake line proportioning valve? I don't want to run abs, the civic's proportioning valve has 2 inlets 4 outlets, the R's prop valve has 2 inlets 2 outlets, what should I do?
4. Can I just swap the whole dash? the connectors are different (I think) where it plugs in, what are my options here?
any help is greatly appreaciated as these issues plague my thoughts, thanks in advance guys.

all the plugs should plug up, you should have to run vtec soliniod, vtec preasure, and knock unless you have a SI harness.. im not sure what plug you are talking about.. everything how ever should plug in so look for the extra plug ont he harness...
you can def use the civic fuel system, theres no reason to upgrade the fuel pump if your staying all motor, it is more than efficent
did you put on rear disc? other wise there is no reason to put on the itr proportioning valve, even with rear disc its not manditory.
i dont really know as for the dash, i would jsut leave the stock one in

Ya, I posted in all three relative forums making my chances better of the guru's seeing my post as the more input the better... thanks for the heads up though.

This is a pretty dumb place to ask for swap help. We're the ones trying to keep these motors IN our cars, and dont really have much use for swaps seeing as the cars already come with the most sought after Honda motor ever made...

Go drive your car on some twisties like it was an R, and let me know when you need it pulled out of a ditch, k?

If you get a motor legit, there is no need for the VIN plate to be removed, and atleast 9 out of 10 swaps I see have no VIN plate.

Are you serious? think about it man... ITR took the frame from the civic, and considering most itr owners up grade the suspension to the same suspension i upgraded my civic too, how do you figure you will have a chance on some twisties... since the civic is lighter it will be able to accelerate and brake much faster than the itr, so i will own you even if theres a small chance your car might handle a little better b/c of the weight and wheel base or hwat ever you are going to try to argue..

well considering my vin plate isnt removed, even if your little 9out of 10 thing is tru (which i doubt) doesnt mean everytime someone is doing a swap their motor is stolen

this guy is right when he says not to mess with the prop valve unless you do a brake upgrade(which you should)..
I would also keep the dash, but I've heard that integra dashes will go in.. never tried myself though, so I can't say for sure..

Re: '00 B18C5 INTO A 94 CX HATCH (KOALA YUMMIES)
the swap is as easy as baking a cake man.......
the stock engine harness from the b18c5 will plug right in.
since your car is not a vx, si or a 92 model. you do need to add wires on the
chassis harness. the portion of wires that is attached to the chassis.
you will need to add the following of three: vtec solenoid, vtec pressure switch, and
knock sensor.
the fuel system you can leave alone, the fuel line from the rail should bolt right up to the fuel filter.
now for the prop valve you do not need to add that unless your adding rear disc brakes. if you are, try to get get a prop valve, get one from a 92-95 civic si, ex or any non abs integra. IE: 40/40 prop valve.
and for anymore questions on swapping a b18c5 in an eg.........ask B18C5-EH2 the moderator of the eg forum.
