wire harness question
scenario
-97 integra
-i pulled out the stock obd2a engine and engine wire harness to do a motor swap
-i want to simply put in my obd1 motor and use the obd1 harness that came with it since my obd2a harness is kinda f*ked up.
-i know the obd1 engine harness plugs and the obd2a integra shock tower plugs will plug into each other.
-i just need to know if the pinouts are the same. i dont want to burn an ecu and im too lazy to check the pinouts myself. does anyone know if i have to move any pins to a different location on any of the plugs? or are they fine to just plug and play.
TIA
merry christmas

Re: wire harness question
You need a jumper harness that allows you to use an OBD1 ecu with your OBD2 firewall harness, unless you plan to replace the whole firewall harness which would require quite a bit of work. Other than that you should be fine. Check with your state's DOT as some states do not allow the use of an OBD1 system on an OBD2 car (basically because they can not hook up the OBD2 diagnostic device). Good luck!

Re: wire harness question
I know this for sure...I had an OBD1 hatch, and I used a complete swap from an OBD2 integra ls (including the harness), and everything worked fine. I see no reason that it would not be the same the other way around as well, as long as you are using an OBD1 ecu. If you did what you are doing and tried to run an OBD2 ecu it would have a few codes. Good luck!

Re: wire harness question
ok cool thats all i needed to hear. sounds like it should work. i have an obd2a car, with a complete obd1 swap & harness. obd2a ecu converter and a obd1 chipped p28 (engine is a lsvtec).
i just dont wanna plug in my ecu and try start up my car and end up with a fried ecu
