Default when do i know that i need new motor mounts?

my car has been making weird sounds lately and im really thinking its my motor mounts. what are bad symptoms to let you know that your mounts are torn? i know that my tranny mount and lower mount is damage but am i safe to drive like this? and also, can i add energy inserts to my ripped mounts and call it the day? or buy new mounts

Symptom of bad mounts are a lot of motor movement with increased throttle, which in turns causes bad vibrations. I don't see how the front tranny mount can go out since it's a piece of metal.

yes inserts will work unless you got the cash for some solid ones like hasport's.

Default Yes and No!

To check the mounts look at them, if you see any tears or the bolt in the middle is off center in some cases the mount is bad. If your mounts are bad you could have shifting problems also (depeding on which mounts). Not to mention that your engine is swinging back and forth as you drive your car.

Installing Energy Inserts into torn mounts? I would't do that, you could I just wouldn't. I would atleast go to the local junkyard or dismantler and buy a good mount and install the inserts into those good mounts. The whole purpose for the inserts is to make a good mount better not to make a bad mount good.
