Motor mount insterts in old, very worn mounts?
So im considering either buying new mounts, or buying the ES motor mount bushing kit.
For those of you with experience, could you tell me if the fact that my torque mounts are pretty damn worn out is going to effect the quality of the es inserts, or should i get new mounts anyways

The insert kits usually work okay if your willing to take the time to install them in the mounts. I usually recommend installing whole new mounts and especially if your mounts seem to be pretty worn.
If your car's engine isn't putting out a whole lot of power you can find new OEM mounts for pretty cheap and the aftermarket mounts aren't to bad in price either.

Re: (clem kevin)
my mounts are pretty worn out also, i just bought ES inserts red and put those in and they work like a dream for me now. Eventually when there is nothing that really needs to be done to my car and i have some extra cash and im bored i'll replace the blown motor mounts. But for now, I feel the inserts are all i need.

I just added both Energy Suspension and Prothane inserts in my DA. The stock mounts were shitty, but the inserts keep things nice and tight. Be prepared for the rattles and vibrations associated with the extra stiffness.

my mounts were shot, so i threw in the es inserts. i only have the front 2 in, i am waiting to put the rear one in when i get a new clutch. even with only the front 2, i noticed a big difference especially when upshifting the car does not dive as much. i got them for about $40 and new hasports i think are about $350, so they are a pretty enexpensive solution. i would deffiately recomend them i can't wait to get the rear one in

Re: (cheapskate)
^^^Yeah, the rear engine mount is the most important mount of the main three, since it gets the majority of the engine's movement and torque.

But a shop couldn't? I don't think I'd use them for anything else in the future...it's pretty self explanatory.

I got my ES insert kit for 26$.
the pack comes with 6 inserts in total but you only use 4 for the front torque mount and the rear T-Bone mount.
the front it easy. for the rear t-bone mount, I was replacing my intake manifold at the same time and it made it really easy. But I could see that if it was on it could be troublesome.
if your mounts are sort of cracked and worn don't worry about it the inserts keep them together pretty good. Make sure when you put them in that they are clean. I had a peice of dirty in mine and the mount squeaked at idle.
