Need Suggestions On Motor Mounts
Planning on doing my swap real soon here and I have a chance to change all of my mounts to billet mounts with the stiffer polyurethane.
I'm debating whether I should get the billet mounts or should just get the motor mount inserts from Prothane. I want the mounts to be very stiff, but not solid. Would I be better off getting the billet mounts or just getting inserts?

Why do you have to change your mounts to stiff *** polyurethane mounts? I think just keeping your stock mounts and buying a vibrator would be cheaper .
I'd get the correct mounts. The billet mounts do look cleaner than inserts. I've heard that the inserts are pretty stiff as well. Most billet mounts come in a wide variety of polyurethane durometers. The higher the number and letter, the stiffer the mount.

Well I like the solid feel of the stiffer polyurethane. My power goal will be around 400whp from a build d-series. The stock motor mounts aren't actually in really good shape. That's why I was wondering if its worth it to switch over to billet mounts or just go with inserts. I'm just curious if the inserts will be as stiff as I want it to be.
The car isn't going to be daily driven will see more tack time then city driving.

I just took out my old mounts, and filled them in with polyurethane. $10 a tube and it was enough to fill all of my mounts. If you decide to fill them in, make sure you do little at a time or else the outside will dry, and NOT the inside.
Since you're swapping though, I guess you want to do it right and go for the billet ones.
