What is the knock sensor functionality on P72 ecu? How's Neptune handle that?

What is the knock sensor functionality on P72 ecu? How's Neptune handle that?
I wanna have knock detection on my engine and included in my data log, also wanna have a bar graph like heart monitor in tuner view so I can watch my engine fire and see misfire.
i don't know what the ecu does with the knock sensor tho, can someone run me thru it??
if this doesn't work out I'm gonna repurpose oil lamp in cluster to light up for knock and skip the fun stuff.
is oem gsr knock sensor any good or should I go for a better one?
