I was using a GSR ECU, and I was getting trouble code 8. I put in the regular LS ECU and no more Trouble codes. The only problem is, it stills Idles funnya, and High. I adjusted the Throttle body, and it Idles at 1500 RPM. I then look at my Haynes manual and I noticed that it said if your Distributor is Cracked or Broken in anyway replace it. My Distributor has a part broken of but its not where any of the Spark plug wires connect. Its like some extra piece that sticks out. Also the rotor looks bad. If I change them do you think it may fix the problem?
probably wouldn't hurt to replace it if you've got the money, they aren't cheap in the least, usually run you anywhere from 300-800 bucks depending on if you do it yourself or not and if you get a good deal.
on the idle problem: does the idle do that when it is first started like after the engine is cooled or the first time it's run during the day or all the time? cause if it's during it's first run or when it's cooled, that's normal, it's called a cold start and it just gives the engine a little more gusto to get it warmed up.
as for the ECU issue: it was probably from the last car it was in, they threw a code and then sold it to you or whatever. if you use an obd code reader and erase the data on the ecu then it might go away, if it's still there afterwards then it is an actual problem that you'll need to deal with. it happened to me when i bought my new/used ecu for my gsr.

no probably around 1k or lower...mine will idle for a while at about 900-1k and then will drop to anywhere from 600-1000 is normal. i wouldn't be too worried though, maybe try to adjust your TB again and see if it'll drop any more, and if it doesn't then go from there...
