one of my friends integra's vtec is not engaging...

we checked for oil already...its just right on the second dot of the dip stick...

this car is an RS with a ls/vtec setup...i checked the vtec wiring everything still connected and grounded properly...

is it true if we put a 12v power source to the solenoid it should click if not should i assume its bad and replace it...haven't tried this yet unless someone else has done this b4....

any other ideas would greatly appreciated
