Default VTEC Not Working??? PLEASE HELP!!!

I have a '94 Integra GSR with a B18C1 block and a B16A3 head with a P72 ECU. It has good power until about 4500 RPM, once the RPM's raise past that it starts to lag and at around 7000 RPM it feels like it wont go any higher and then the Battery Light starts to flash. An I dont hear the VTEC at all...

After checking the other day I found out I have the ECU codes 17(VSS) and 23(KS) going off.

Yeah, the vtec won't engage if the oil is low

Only one solenoid...

I would adress the issue you know is there before you jump to anything else.

Knock Sensor is your reason for no VTEC.

?????

Kinda confused... how do you "barely buy" something? It might not be a problem with the knock sensor. It picks up on abnormal vibration in the engine. It might be something internal.

If you have a code for Knock Sensor, VTEC will not engage...that simple. Figure out the knock sensor issue, and vtec should work...BTW it is possible for the ecu to be faulty in this case...look into it.

replace/test the knock sensor... if problems still persist then try another ecu

when you fix your CEL problem u might wanna change out that ECU. if im not mistaken P72 is a GSR ecu, and with a single stange IM off the B16 it might not run that great. but i could be wrong just my .02 someone correct me if im wrong.
