If your oil is low, then it could cause it not to engage... My friend had that problem...

i just did a Oil change last week soo oil should be good...soo vtec opens at 4400 on a stock ecu? but when the secondary opens i should hear the engine scream alot louder...and it dosnt..its just the same tone all the way to redline....and my bros civic with a GSR screams like crazy at 6k..it pulls alot harder too.

vtec engages at 4400 rpm with the stock gsr ecu, secondaries open at about 5800 rpm with the stock gsr ecu, if you dont have an intake or exhaust youll really have to listen to hear vtec.

are you just reving it, or are you dricing and going to 8000?? Also the car has to be warm for vtec to work.

Yeah, if you're only revving it, then its not coming on because you have to be moving for VTEC to work.
