Default update on my B18C1 problem.

You might remember my probelm from here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=104340

Well I took the valve cover off and turns out my timing belt is loose! Could that make the sound that I described or is the sound responsible for the belt being loose? I checked the belt like 5000 miles ago and it looked new. Isn't there a tensioner pulley on that Timing belt drive? Could that be making the sound?

Also I went to try to get the broken studs replaced at NAPA and they don't have them. Does anyone know where to get them besides a dealer?

the studs that go through the valve cover and into the head but then have a smaller size for the grommet and nut for the valve cover.

just get them from the dealer and next time, try not to overtighten the nut. i think they were like $6-8 each.

and they do sell these neat little pager things you hook up to your keys in case you lose them chill out and have a beer man

ok.

I found my keys and the car made the sixty mile trip to my friends garage without any valves touching any cylinders

I got my valve cover off and my timing belt is definitely loose. How can I adjust the tensioner and make sure it is not too tight?

BTW: thanks for the beer but i had some Vodka last night instead

there should be only about a half inch of play when you wiggle the belt either way
