tips for removing O2 sensor from header?
I have to replace the O2 sensor in my header, and I would really rather get the sucker off with out pulling the whole header.
I tried it today and it did not go well. I had the deepwell O2 socket, but because of clearance neither a rachet or a braker bar had enough room for me to try and pop it off. So I tried the other O2 socket I have, which is shorter and slightly different, but again I had no room to get it off with a braker bar nor a rachet.
So finally I tried an appropriat sized wrench, but I could not get it off (even after soaking it in PB Pentrating liquid). The only thing I can think of is maybe use a pipe on the end of the wrench for more leverage?
Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

Is that what you are supposed to do with it? I thought you were just supposed to hit the O2 sensor with it till it came off
Thanks for the bump though

I used a crescent wrench and a hammer. Put the wrench on and then hammer it in the correct direction and it gives it enough torque to break the o2 sensor loose

I unplugged that beotch (from the electrical connection above) because I couldn't unscrew it. Then I took it off having all the space and leverage. Screwed the O2 it back on to my new header then after it was installed, I plugged it back in.
