timing question
ok i know this sounds is a stuiped questions but i've read that the red mark on a b18 is the timing mark and the white mark is used for tdc. but i've also read that the white mark is the timing mark and tdc. can someone explain why the other three marks are there and how they effect you the motor?

Yes, as I recall the white mark is the TDC (0* mark) and the Red mark (one with 2 others around it) is 16* BTDC (the other 2 are +/- 2*s) and those are used to set your ignition timing.

I know this is kinda old, but what is the timing supposed to be set at?
We're doing this on a 99 GSR but can't find the info. I only see 2 white dots. No red like I've read.
Thanks in advance.
