Timing question
Guys, I just adjusted my ignition timing back to stock (or as close as I can see). Due to the fact that it probably wasn't set right initially and I was getting about 20 mpg on a B18B1. I've got a couple of questions:
1. The marks on the crank pulley seemed to jump around a little (moving left to right slightly as I shone the timing light on them) is this normal? Or is it a sign that something is going awry?
2. There seems to have been a reduction in initial acceleration, not that I mind, but is this normal for a timing adjustment? I retarded it a little bit to bring the red mark back to the pointer, so I think that may have a little to do with it.
Thanks in advance for the help, guys.

You were probably getting some kind of interference from the pickup that attaches to the #1 plug wire. Adjust the contact and try again.
Also, don't forget to jump the service connector.
