Default time to replace axels?

i just recently put new wheels on my car and i realized that when i took off the old ones, there was a ton of what looked like grease, sprayed all over the inside of the wheel. the axel boots are torn, is this what is causing the problem? the car is pretty low too, so if i replace them, do i have to get something more durable than oem?
thanks

you can get remanufactured axles from autozone, kragen or pep boys.. i did both of mine about 6 months ago, but the driver side started to act up again.

if you have the money and don't want to deal with crap remans that could act up later, i say get new ones at least.. oem could be quite expensive though. im sure you can find brand new aftermarket axles for a good price.

but yeah dude, def. get it replaced soon.. the torn boot is what all that black grease is from. if its not too late you might be able to just replace the boot instead of the whole axle, but i would just replace the whole thing if i was going through all that trouble.

if your cheap like me....just buy the boot, clean the bearings out, add new grease and your good to go again... only cost bout $20 or so...but again if you have the money, then i suggest getting new aftermarkets....all those remanufactured at autozone or elsewhere........I believe they just clean it and add a new boot to it unless the bearings are shot.....same thing how I do mine...
