Default 370!!?!?!?

the guy at wheel works.. told me for a replace ment of an axle and jv joints for both sides.. (driver / passenger front) would come to be 370 bucks...

form wahwt i hear.. axles and joints come to like 80 bucks.. so hes charging me like 200 bucks for labor? is this a good deal?

after seeing those numbers.. it kinda makes me think that i should try and tackle this myself.. but i dont really have any experience with axles and joints.. =p

rebuilding axles isn't cheap or easy. but if that's for both, it's good. if it's just for one, he's charging double what he should.

you can get an OEM SH axle for 220 bucks brand new. Is that 370 for both sides or just one. if thats just one go buy a reman or OEM one cheaper but hes gonna tag you for labor.

That sounds about right.

I replaced mine (when I did my swap). It's not as hard as Imagined. The hardest part if breaking lose the castle nut on the wheel hub (Air-tools makes this part VERY easy). Then you need to loosen your shocks where they mount to the control arm.

I will change them myself next time they need replacement.

bleah.. ihate wallet rapes.. yeah its for both sides.. but im thinking about having one side done.. but i heard plenty of horror stories that when one side is fixed.. the other side will break.. its like buying a pair of shoes.. you dont buy one new shoe when you need it.. you buy a pair..

I had my drivers side axle replaced with out the passenger one touched. And ive had no problems. What you hear is Import Myths.

Change the foker yourself, save some cash, gain some experience
