Default test pipe

How would a test pipe sound and perform w/ a stock exhaust? My heatshield on my cat is about to fall off, that is why i was wondering. should i just rip it off or what?

With stock exhaust it should sound pretty good,
but if you put a straight through muffler on ... it'll be Loud to say the least.

And yeah, just rip the heatshield out, I don't have Any on my exhaust.

It won't be that loud, you'll have more tone to it,
but it won't be high pitched, or raspy with the stock exhaust/muffler.

I really dont think you will want it all that loud. Mine was loud for a while and it was alright, but then after driving to work (100) miles a day is was pissing me off. I finally swapped out for a twin loop. Besides the louder you are the farther away the cops can be and know that you are driving like an ***. Just remember if it is really loud then everytime you get on it, there is a better chance in the cops spotting you. If you sound or remain stock it's not as noticable. Just my 0.02

my friend had a test pipe on his stock exhaust and it was raspy as hell! it sounded nasty and he eventually blew the welds where the pipe meets the can of the muffler.

oh yea, is your car obd2? if it is, you will be required to do more work because the check engine light will light up and put your car into limp mode with a test pipe.

Agreed... raspy @ high rpm but pretty much normal when cruising. Reason I took mine off is that it smells at a stoplight.
