i have a straight pipe that a friend gave me...i was curious about what it exactly does...more horse power????....would it sound louder????....i have dc headers and greddy evo cat-back...would it be a good idea to put it on my car????....thanx

 

it just connects ur headers and exhaust eliminating the cat

 

your car will be louder also...

 

Your exhaust would smell worse too.

 

it would be louder and smell worst but u will also lose alot of back presher wich means u will drive ur car differnt like rev alot higher youre bottom end will suck but ur top end will be crazy.

my car felt faster, and i'm sure it was faster, when i had my test pipe on. However, i did get a fix-it ticket because the cop said it smelled, not because it was too loud.

yea i would have totally fought that in court...it smelled so you get a ticket....hmmmm

 

depending on the state your in.. it can be illegal. i know here in washington itis illegal and you wont pass emmissions

hmmm...it doesn't help that i'm in cali...huh....hehehe....i'll see how it feels

 

You probably won't feel a large gain. It'll net you a couple hp, but not enough so that you'll notice it. Not enough to risk getting a ticket in cali. There were dyno tests proving that you do get some hp, but it was like 3 or 4.

 

since you're in ca, expect a fine of $1k+ if you get caught without a cat
