Default exhaust question

well i bought an Si hatch a little while ago and the exhaust was too ricer for me, it was high pitched and had rasp like a wench, so my brother decided it would be a good idea to get a resonator, so i got one and i asked him to put it in for me (i had to work), and so he puts it in but then him and his buddy get a smart idea to gut my cat, and now it sounds like a ***** in church, it rattles like a ****, so i figured it was just loose, so i made sure it wasnt hitting any heat shields, and it was, so i removed the heat shield, and still theres a rattle around 3000rpm, im thinking its the cat, so if i got a straight pipe made and slapped it in would that fix the rattle?

Whats a ***** in Church sound like?

And you won't pass emissions with that Straight pipe.

Go to a junkyard and get a new cat.

A test pipe won't make it any better. I have a test pipe on mine at the moment and I honestly HATE the way it sounds. ******* annoying.

well im in canada, dont have emissions tests up here, well we do but its already passed
but what else could it be, its not the exhaust hitting anything, thats was my next guess, the cat, since they gutted it, i have the piece of pipe they took out to put the resonator in, so ill just use that, get some flanges and weld them on, try that out, see if it works maybe? yes no?
