Starting Problem
I've searched but i'm pretty sure this is a unique case..so my car has been having a reoccuring problem of not starting. Just had maintenance done (i.e. spark plugs, starter. etc.) and i could usually jump start it. Then one day i wouldn't start/crank and i couldn't jump it. I took the battery out and tested out fine at Kragen's so this left me stumped...so i just let the car sit there for about 2 months while commuting on bike. Every week i would test it and still no start or anything. Then after the week hitting 2 months it decides to start, so im like wtf? I have no idea what's going on with the car can anyone help?
cliffs: car wont start for 2 months, i try to start it once every week no luck, today after 2 months car decides to start. i needz the halpzz plzz!

It makes a small "whhrrrr" sound, sorry bad description but best i can do
it may be the fuel pump priming but not quite sure. And no crank or turning over, just that small whhhr sound. And the car wasn't doing this before the maintenance. 1994 gsr, thanks for the reply.

Either a poor connection at the battery posts, at the ground point, or at the starter. If those pan out, the starter solenoid may be sticky. After that is ruled out, suspect the starter itself. This is assuming any starter interlocks like clutch switch or auto trans shifter switches are funtioning normally.

Starter was replaced not more than 6 months ago, but i suspect that as the problem also..but update:
i called AAA for road assistance, and the guy wasn't able to normally jump start it. Battery checked out good and nothing seemed abnormal. So he took a 1.5 - 2 ft socket wrench and smacked the starter while i kept turning the key and it eventually started. WTH? and while he was hitting the starter he said sparks were flying, so wth could this be?? i've never heard of anything like this..thx for the help all.

If it was replaced 6 months ago then it should still be under warrenty. If you had to smack it to start the car then its the problem. Gauranteed.
Is it Oem?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Damn..ya the AAA guy took about a 2 ft socket wrench and banged the hell out of it before it was able to start. Not sure if it's oem, took it to a local mech...he'll be hearing from me

looks like you have a bad ground. i've seen many of my friends try to do swap and r&r trans and after its all done they.
attempted to start and no luck, look at the car notice there is a loose ground on the trans cleaned it up and secured vehcile started right up!!
