i talked to a friend of mine and he does exhausts and custom piping and he can give me custom piping and a borla muffler for $129.00. the only thing is the muffler that i wanted to get is has a center/center inlet/outlet but it is on backorder for lrd knows how long and the one that he can get is the offset/center one. should i get it? he says that all they have to do is bend a little extra piping to get it to the side inlet. please give me some advice. thanx

 

get it done right. dont rush into it. you might regret it later.

Sure, anything you put in the exhaust stream is gonna effect the flow. However, you really want a resonator. If done properly, it won't have hardly any effect on the HP/TQ gains, and it will quiet the system down considerably. Without a resonator the exhaust will sound raspy and high pitched. With, it'll sound much quieter and deeper. I would NEVER consider an exhaust for the street with out a resonator...

Any muffler shop will have them. Magnaflow makes a good product. That's what Dave at SMPS uses on his custom systems...

 

if i also get a high flow cat will that affect the sound of the exhaust?
