Rough start!!!!!
ok here is my problem everytime when the engine is cold lets say in the morning i go to start my car (EG coupe w/ 94 LS motor) and it takes a while to start. engine is cracking but no start when the car does start after so many cranks the car runs rough way below idle car sounds like it wants to turn off, lets say 300 rpm. then i try to give it gas when at low idle and the car shuts right off but if i leave it to idle low for a 2-3 min the car jumps to normal idle. this olny happens when the engine is cold if say i start my car and go some where turn the car off then get back in the car the it starts up fine. if anyone has any info it would really help. thanks!

Re: Rough start!!!!!
Mine starts a little rough too, but not like that. whew.
I've narrowed down my search to a bad leaky fuel injector.
It's the only thing that seems to make sense.
Fuel pressure drops down a little faster than normal when car is shut off. (FP gauge)
Flooded cylinder(s) in the morning will be hard to start.
Bad spraying fuel injector(s) will cause bogging, and lower your cars performance.

Re: Rough start!!!!!
This might sound weird but change your spark plugs if your spark plugs are not good that’s what exactly happens specially in a cold weather. it happen to me before.

Re: Rough start!!!!!
Hmm...because the prob was never "resolved" and it isn't clear what may have corrected it - I'm bringing this thread back!
So, I am having the same problems with my 93 integra. I go to start it in the morning and it's hard to start - takes a while. Then, once it starts it dies. If I let it warm up for about 10 min before taking off, it doesn't die. It does run poorly though (very shaky and seems like it will shut off, but doesn't). Also, the rpm gauge is all over the place and I hear a very faint whining sound.
I've done some research and read the Hanes manual and I'm considering:
Faulty fuel pump / relay
Ignitor?
Ignition Coil
Any suggestions??
Thanks so much!
