Icon3 problems with swap

well i did a swap on my gsr integra and i put a jdm type r engine. i used the jdm wiring hardness went right in no problem but the jdm ecu a p73 didnt work on it so i use the gsr one. then the problem started! the car started but i try to drive it and it started bogging and a couple back fires also i couldnt go past 5000 rpm. can anybody please help!!!!!!!!!!!

your ecu is your main problem. running a gsr ecu on a type r motor. what year is your car? and year of the jdm itr motor?

the car is 2000 gsr and the engine is 96 type r but i thought that i would still be able to at least use the gsr engine and getting running

x3. find a 96 or 97 ITR ecu.

or maybe a P28

am going to look into that then i found one for $175 and is a 96 type r one

i say get a p28 and just get it chipped..

for your type r swap did you have to run any wires for the vtec or anything im about to do one right now, or did you jusrt plug in the harness to the gsr harness and plug the ecu in. i have the right ecu for the 97 type r andthe engine harness but the whole dash harness is a ls.
