ok so yesterday i was driving home when i get to a stop light i decide i want to go fast so i take of quick when all of a sudden my car redlines at 6.8k and my check engine light goes on then i try to rise the rpms but i dont reaally feel my vtec kicking it is it possible my vtec silinoid blew out or could it be something else please help !!!!!!!!

is the check engine light still on ? if it is read the code, then reset it. ur VTEC should be working again. if its nothing serious

 

you might just be in limp mode. you will have to reset but make sure that the cel code is nothing serious like the other guy said. if you dont know your codes go to team-integra.net they have all the codes in an article

 

my check engine light isnt on anymore once i turn the car off and turned it back on the check engine light didnt come on anymore but my **** still redlines at 7.2k and no vtec

 

how do you know vtec doesnt kick in?

 

no boost in power and my vtec is loud
