They say to change the ring (crush washer) on the drain bolt everytime because the ones from honda are a crush washer.. as in you tighten it and "crush" it for a good seal, thus making it a one use wonder.

You can get a oil filter from *gasp* auto parts stores and dealers.

Where do you get the crush washer? Also, is there a need for synthetic oil filter if you use synthetic oil?

Umm. there is no such thing as a synthetic oil filter. You can get a crush washer at the dealership or at an auto store. For filters definetely don't get a Fram.

I was talking about filters like Mobil 1 oil filter. They're supposedly last longer than regular filter. I don't know if that's necessary or not.

Use a new crush washer every time. You can get new washers from the dealer.

I've gotten lucky and was given a hand-full of them. Maybe you will get luck too.

I have had no problem with "Honda" oil filters and they are manufactured by Fram.

Use Honda oil and oil filter. OEM is the best.

If it is basically a stock motor, then just use what is recommended. Generally 10W30 is the norm.

For the crush washer: You can get a brass washer and not worry about them again. Fram makes a "Quick-Drain" setup. I bought it wanted to see if it actually worked well....it didn't. But I did get a brass washer out of the deal haha. Brass isn't like the normal crush washers that need replaced everytime. In fact, I have never had to replace my washer and no it doesn't leak one bit.
