The only people I hear of not running a O2 sensor is when the car is tuned and running closed loop. Then they just use a wideband O2 sensor.

o2 is whats making your car run real rich. only way i know people not running o2 sensor is it they have chipped ecu or tuned car that eliminates the o2/knock sensor out of the whole ecu with the program...

its your o2 sensor, you need one because then you have no sensor that can determine the amount of fuel it needs, right now its in a mode where its being safe because you have no sensor, so it just dumps fuel. get an o2 sensor.

so you installed the o2 sensor?

you may need to disconnect the battery or unplug the ecu fuse. It needs to reset.
Then it may take 60 miles or so for it to completely reset.

I hope that solves your problem.
