Need Help! V-tec Problem
Hey H-T,
I have a 2k1 GS-R and today my V-tec did not kick in at all. I check the oil and it's not low, so what else could be the problem. The car only has 20k on it and the mods are I/h/e w/ a test pipe. Any ideas? Thanks

temperature..but since u said it did not kick in all day im assuming thats not it. maybe your solenoid went bad. take it into acura...it will be covered under warranty. regardless of i/h/e/tp. (does not affect any of the vtec components.)

if youre not the original owner it "might" not be covered or they may just give you **** and try to tell you its not, if they do ask to see a specific policy which states such...also if the car has a salvage title it definitely wont be covered
they also will try to give you **** about the mods you have

The redline is the same but theys no change over, but it's hard to get it up to redline b/c they's no power.
If VTEC doesn't kick in, I don't think it will let you get all the way up to Redline..... false.
pull out your spark plug wires and check for any oil leaking in.
when i got my timing belt done at the dealer they didn't replace one of the rubber grommets and it caused cylinder full of oil. The same day i caught it, my VTEC wasn't kickin in either. Pulled off the valve cover, replaced all grommets and valve cover gasket, dried up the cylinder. and when i took it to the freeway after warming up, gunned it. it was like night and day.

Don't worry it was nothing major it was my Vechicle speed sensor. It got some salt and **** from Sunday's snow storm in DE. My car is so low I guess that it got caught up in there. Thanks for you guys advice though.
