In turboed cars u need a certain type of map sensor, one that can read the boost. I'm not sure exactly which one ya need but plenty of ppl on here should know. Bump!

yeah i know that, n/a cars have a basic one that cant read over barametric presure, and turboed cars depending on how much boost you runn yo get anything from a 3 bar to a 5 bar map sensor....i have a 3 bar....but its not reading right and im trying to find the cause......

If your ecu programming is setup to read boost a stock map sensor is cool to about 12psi. After 12psi it will stay the same. Computer won't know if you are running 12 or 18 psi. That could definitely be a problem. As far as going out. Not saying it doesn't but it shouldn't.

yeah, well my car was tuned and running fine then recently it has been running lean.....and i found that the map sensor is only picking up on 5.3 pounds of boost when im running 7 and its even worse if i run 15 pounds.....
