Default ls vtec vs B20b

my friend has a 90' integra ls....stock trim. He can get a hold of a b20b motor complete for 400. I was wondering if

doing an ls vtec would be much more?

Which would have more horsepower vs torque

would it be better for him to get a gsr tranny or a b16 tranny? we can get a hold of both for pretty cheap

which would you do (please don't slam me, just want to know some opinions)

are you asking if an ls/vtec would cost more than the $400 b20? if thats the case, then yes. to do a proper ls/vtec will require more than $400. and i say a b16 tranny.
