What will happen to your car if you don't have knock sensor installed whether its knocking or pinging or not.

 

well..i had a broken knock sensor on my GSR........just got a check engine light thats all..

 

Check-engine light because your ECU knows that the knock sensor is missing.

More important, without the sensor, the ECU won't know when its knocking, so it won't back off your spark timing. That only matters if you actually start knocking. Do ya feel lucky...
