check engine light/knock sensor
I have a 97 gsr. My check engine comes on at around 2500 rpm and I believe it because of my knock sensor. I don't understand why it does this.

You believe it's your knock sensor or do you know for sure. If you know for sure, start off with the ECU reset procedure. It could possibly be an intermittent failure and could go away after a reset.
If the check engine light returns then:
You either have an open/shorted wire between the knock sensor and ECU, or your knock sensor has actually **** the bed.

Re: (mastamind)
yea I'm pretty sure it is the knock sensor, because i tried out an ls ecu and didn't get a cel. I checked the codes before and it did say something about me having an electric problem with my knock sensor. I got a diagnostic 2 weeks ago and they said it was my crank angle sensor and that was understandable since my t-belt snapped on me. I changed that sensor out yesterday. Every time I reset my ecu the light goes off, but comes back on at 2500 rpm.
Thanks for the info.

Re: check engine light/knock sensor (bak lee)
You are going to have to get an ascilloscope to watch your KS, this should set a code, the wiring is very sensitive. Watch the timing while revving it up, a KS will make the timing retard, no retard = no KS and your code reappears, good luck.
