Kill switch for the 2001 Integra?
Immobilizer is in the ECU so it's not all that hard to get around. What they do is swap out your ECU with a JDM ECU because JDM ECU's do not have immoblizer, JDM S2000's don't atleast. I don't know if the same is true for Integra's but it's definitely possible. If they don't have a non-immobilizer ECU then there is pretty much no way they are driving away your car. With integra's its easy to throw in a non-immobilzer ecu since they only used it for 00-01's.
The only way I thought of to stop them is to make a custom harness with different plugs for your ECU which would take some fabrication but it would work. This way they wouldn't be able to simply unplug and plug in a new ECU.

Somebody trying to secure there car doesn't always mean they are a thief. I'm sure most thieves learn from other thieves. Lets face it, it doesn't take much to steal a honda.

dont even have to be a JDM one too, my 01gsr got a p28.
now if i put my stock ecu into another 00-01 dc2 then it wont work.BUT if you take your ECU to a shop that handles ECUs they can disable the Immobilizer to make it work.

you can copy keys. take your car to the dealer ship they will get you a copy. they just take down your VIN and program another key. i have lost a key thats what i did. (thats b4 i got the p28 )

a brief search led me to find a $40 box bypasses the feature you speak of. That answers your question. I will not and need not post where and how to buy such a product since nobody here NEEDS it. All you need to know it that its as hard to bypass as any other alarm system.
Invest in an alarm and a hood lock. Thieves don't want to steal a car that is making a continuous racket.
If you want to prevent immobilizer bypass via an ECU swap, get some socket head or Torx head bolts for the ECU bracket. That will confuse the hell out of them. However, they can still get a copied key from the dealer. Therefore the alarm is best.

I just confirmed it, replacing the ECU with one that doesn't have an imobilizer will disable it, so JDM or ODB1. It was a nice idea, too bad it was implemented poorly, they could have at least put it some where on the engine that would require more than 5 min to replace.

A piece of chain and a good Master lock will keep the hood closed, preventing disconnection of the battery and cutting of the alarm horn wires. For an alarm, just make sure it has a starter disable, shock sensor, door & trunk sensor, and lock relays.

That's why the socket head or Torx head bolts are effective. You can't disconnect the ECU when it is bolted in. Never let a thief know what to expect. A distributor kill switch is also a nice idea.

Just confirmed with the dealership..... You have to have an original copy of the key and your liscence plate in order for them to create a copy. They cannot create a copy soley base on a vin # they have to have an original copy of a key inorder to make a copy.
The dealership also said that If you have lost all your keys you will have to have your vehicle towed to the dealership and have them reprogram the ECU and give you a new set of keys.

The dealership can actually make you a copy of the key with just a vin#, but they can't program the code onto the key, without the original key. The reason why they require you to tow the vehicle to acura is to reprogram your brain box to match the new key's program. But there's lock smith that can reprogram a blank key to match your brain box.
They can also make you a key based on the 4 digit key code that you see on the side of a keylock cylinder. The easiest one to get to is probably the one that you use to lock the trunk and gas door levers underneath the driver's seat. However that does not allow them to reprogram the ECU work with the key.
the oem alarm doesn't do **** for you. all you have to do is unlock the doors and your good to go. as far as the key code all you have to do is go to honda and tell them you bought a car from an auction and you cant start it cause you need the code and when they give it to you just program it in an ecu and use that ecu to start the car. get a pager alarm with a motion sensor and more than one siren and a backup battery and you should be good to go.
