bit of help please
Your alarm is in VALET mode, is the led on solid? depending on what model the alarm is will determine how you put it into and out of VALET, if yours has a NON plain view valet/program switch, but just a button or switch hidden under-dash, turn on ign. switch to the run position or start the car, within 10 sec., [or so] push and let go of momentary switch or switch SPDT toggle switch the other way, LED will go out and the alarm will start working, if on the other hand you have the plain view switch then You need a code.

if its a viper alarm, open the door and press lock, unlock, and lock (one after the other) and it will take it out of valet. ---if thats the problem. Is the LED solid blue/red or is it blinking. Also, what type of vehicle do you own? Some alarm are tied into the domelight, check and see that is working. Another way to tell is close the doors, arm the alarm, it should chirp once telling you it's armed. If it chirps an addition time shortly after the first, thats telling you the alarm is bypassing one of its inputs. (may be your doortrigger). Let me know what type of vehicle it is, and i can give you more info...

If it's not the Plain View switch, [mounted in plain view, kind of a 2 button switch with a * on one of the push buttons] then it has to be a small push button or small toggle switch hidden under the dash someplace, but it should be mounted so you can get at it easy from the drivers seat. If you can see the alarm brain under the dash and tell me what the model is then I can tell you what kind of switch it has and where on the brain it is connected, so you can follow the wires from there to the switch.

Did it used to work? If it did, then it's a good bet the switch is someplace that you can push or flick it by accident.
