Default Cluster Question...

are LS and GSR cluster plugs the same? as far as plug and play and being interchangeable? the reason why im asking is i have a 94cx and i plan on putting a JDM ITR Cluster and can get some LS plugs. thanks in advance.

if you have a jdm cluster u will still need a usdm ls or gsr cluster cuz the wirings are different.. they are not directly plug and play..

jdm itr cluster swap into my gsr. album i made.. http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4289266009

it basically involves either moving each of the four(temp/gas/rpm/speedo) gauge sections from jdm to usdm housing.. or swapping the back green portion from the jdm to the usdm cluster.. if u just use the plugs and expect it to plug and play.. in an integra all the gauges would go nuts and not read correctly..

you also need to find a cluster with the same year as your car.. since u have a CX?.. i'm not sure which one you would use.. that might depend on your ecu? but i'm not even gonna guess on that one..

for integras.. if u have a 94-97 teg you would use a 97 or older jdm cluster.. & if u have a 98-01 teg you would use a 98+ jdm cluster.. if you had the wrong year cluster in your car even after u swapped the gauge sections to the usdm cluster.. that would also make the gauges not function properly...

hope that helps a lil..

the clusters vary by year depending on whether ist ODBI or ODBII, Auto versus Manual, etc....

thanks for the replies. but what i plan on doing is swapping in a JDM ITR cluster into my 94' Civic CX. So I'll be acquiring a DC2R cluster soon but i was wondering if it made a difference whether i got LS, GSR or ITR plugs to plug into the cluster. and for instance if i got 94'~97' plugs...would they be able to plug into a 98'+ cluster??thanks.
