Default ITR Conversion

Has anyone ever put a B18C5 (Integra Typr R) engine, tranny, ecu... into a GSR or other model integras? I have a 1997 GSR and i want to do this. Are there any necessary modifications to the ECU or the wiring that need to be done, or will i run into any other disasters in the process? Also, will my ABS system be compatible with the ECU also because i know that it is different.

Thanks for your knowledge,
Mike

IMO just build your engine - more for the money. there's nothign wrong with a B18C1

Not worth it, just build what you've got.

A) Im getting all of the parts new
B) Im getting it for cheap
C) I can do all of the work myself and sell my old engine, trans...
D) I need a trans. rebuild soon anyways
E) A lot more horsepower
F) Mods like cams and high comp. pistons and a new intake manifold are just as expensive if not more

The complete swap is not a bad idea.Stronger motor, and those short gears with lsd.

If you can do the work yourself, just yank your engine out, take it up to 84mm bore, get a good head P&P, match the combustion chambers, Skunk II maifold throw some 12:1 pistons in there, get some good bumpsticks. That's a hell of a lot cheaper than even a 'cheap' ITR engine, and you'll be easily over 200whp.

A) It will cost A LOT more than just building up your GsR, especially if all the parts are new (And if you are going to get it part by part, it will be cheaper to just buy a Spoon or Jun built motor)
B)Cheap is still going to cost a lot (You can reuse your GsR block with ITR pistons, and buy the Type R head, manifold,...etc.)
C)If you have the knowledge to do it yourself, build up your GsR (High comp pistons, rods, ported head, manifold,...etc.)
D)Trans rebuild with higher final drive and better LSD than ITR
E)Not really (GsR with Intake header exhaust can get real close to ITR power)
F)Buying a new complete ITR motor with tranny and ecu will cost way more than a rebuild; as the ITR crate motor and Longblock are no longer available from Honda; you will need to buy each piece separately;shortblock, head, tranny, manifold,...etc.

Will somebody just answer my ORIGINAL question?

i will be getting the parts for $4000 . I can sell my stuff for around $2000.
Thats 2000 bucks for a type R cangeover.

Cams cost 900 pistons cost 200 intake manifold costs 400 lsd w/ trans rebuild costs 1500
Now thats gonna cost over $3000 and not even everything i would want to do. So tell me how building my 85,000 mile engine is more worthwhile or even cheaper then doing what i said?

$4000 for a complete ITR motor with Tranny is a good deal, especially new

Dont forget the ITR ecu, exhaust manifolds are different lengths, intake piping is different, coolant hoses are different length and ABS has its own ecu and will not be affected.

JDM ecu will work, but there is a speed limiter in the JDM ecu (which can be taken out with certain fuel/VTEC controllers)

Go for it man. Especially since you can sell your old motor and tranny.
