ITR 5th gear swap help
Hello! I’ve been trying to find an answer but can’t find anything with all the searching. I have a 98 R trans that has a chewed up 5th gear. From what I’ve read the 98 N3E trans is a B16 1-3 with a GSR 4-5. I have my old GSR trans sitting around with bad diff bearings but good gears. Being that 4-5 are the “Same” would I be able to swap just the 5th gear on the input shaft on the the ITR with the GSR one? Or would I have to swap it has a set?
Here’s some pics to laugh at my
misery 😅 thank you!

It is always best to replace gears as a pair. If you only replace the main-shaft gear, the lapping/meshing of the two gears will be noisy.
